Peter C. Monteleone (Born on August 18,1926-Died on July 15,1991) was a New York mobster in the Bonanno Crime Family.
Early life Edit
Born in Manhattan, NY, Peter was raised in the lower east side Knickerbocker Village private housing development into a poor family. From a very young age Pete was stealing from the push carts and hanging out with very well known criminals such as Carmine Galante,Gerard Chilli,Dominick Napolitano,Angelo Presenzano and Benjamin Ruggiero.
World War II Edit
When Peter was 18 Years old he was drafted into WWII and was shot twice in the back and became a disabled vet and collected money every month.
Peter's life In The Mob Edit
So after being involved with the Bonanno crime family from such a young age Pete eventually Got Made In 1967 and became a "Made Man" in the Bonanno family. In the 1950s Peter and his wife decided to move from Manhattan to Brooklyn and had three children, a daughter, carol and sons Julius and Peter, Jr. After Pete moved to Brooklyn Anthony Spero became his new Captain.
Arrests EditIn 1969 During The "Banana War" the FBI was giving out subpoenas, Pete knew he was going to get one so he was living temporally living at his sisters house. One day he went home and he was in the bathroom shaving and the FBI knocked at the door. Pete had his shaving cream on so they could not tell if it was him or not, the Agents then went down to their car and looked for his picture to positively identify him. Peter ran up to the roof and jumped to the other building and almost escaped but they caught him. He was incarcerated for 30 days and charged $250 alongside Angelo Lapi.
In 1985 Monteleone had a heart Attack and from then on was in bad health. From the time he had a heart attack to his death he was very sick and had a bad habit of smoking. On July 15, 1991 Monteleone had another heart attack and died at the veterans hospital in Brooklyn. He was 64 years old.
Relationship with Carmine Galante Edit
Peter was very close with former "Boss" Carmine Galante and reportedly was going to be Monteleone's son Peter, Jr's Godfather but Galante was sent to prison that year.
