The Gotti Faction is a side of the Gambino Crime Family which existed from 1976-1985 who were loyal to Aniello Dellacroce. They did not like Paul Castellano and thought the underboss Aniello Dellacroce should be the boss. This side of the family was led by Capo John Gotti and his friend Angelo Ruggiero they and the Bergin Crew were active in the trafficking of Heroin in the early 1980's and therefore disobeyed Castellano's rule of no drug dealing this was also one of the reasons they hated Castellano. Dellacroce died of cancer on December 2nd 1985 and they waited until December 16th 1985 before wiping out Castellano outside Sparks Steak House. Many of the people in the the biggest crew in the faction the Bergin Crew held the top jobs when Gotti became boss.
