Benjamin "The Claw" Castellazzo (born 1939) is a high ranking member of the Colombo crime family and was once the reputed acting underboss. Castellazzo earned his nickname because he was notorious for “getting his claws” into his underlings’ illicit rackets, taking a cut for himself.
In January 2011 in a series of targeted FBI raids, Castellazzo, along with 127 other suspects from New York's notorious five Mafia families were arrested. Along with Castellazzo, officials busted the Colombo family's street boss Andrew Russo and Bartolomeo Vernace and Joseph Corozzo from the Gambino family.
In January 2013, Castellazzo was sentenced to 63 months in prison for his involvement in extortions of a Brooklyn construction company and a Staten Island pizzeria.
